Honoring the Voices of Change: Celebrating Champions Advancing Midlife Women’s Health at the Grassroots Level in Cameroon
AMN is proud to present the Midlife Women’s Health Champion Award, recognizing outstanding individuals who are making a tangible impact on women’s health at midlife across Cameroon. This award celebrates community leaders, health advocates, and change-makers who are raising awareness, educating communities, and empowering women to embrace healthy midlife transitions.
Qur nominees have demonstrated exceptional dedication by engaging in activities such as:
Community sensitization and awareness campaigns
Workshops and educational sessions with health workers
Organizing events and sporting activities to promote wellness
Outreach in churches, schools, and local organizations
Through their tireless efforts, these champions are ensuring that women in Douala, Yaoundé, Bamenda, Kumbo, and other communities are informed, supported, and empowered to take control of their health.
Meet the Nominees
Nyimeh Marie Therese – Douala
Raised awareness on midlife women’s health, organized the first Menopause Walk in Douala, and sensitized communities.
Candida Ndzedzenyuy – Kumbo Health District
Engaged in awareness campaigns and facilitated sessions with community health workers to promote midlife women’s health.
Fonyuy Bertilla – Yaoundé
Promoted midlife and menopause health, led sporting activities during World Menopause Day, and educated women in local communities.
Jaika Catherine – Bamenda
Raised awareness on midlife health and organized sporting activities to engage and educate women.
Wirba Delphine Kinyuy – Kumbo Health District
Conducted awareness programs in churches and with health workers, providing guidance and education on menopause and healthy aging.
